so who is nina?

i was never great at introductions, but basically i was born in 1997 and have always kind of felt out of place. i was always the quiet kid, always the "wow she's so mature for her age" kid, always more introspective, which gave me an outsider's perspective on what it means to be a human and to function in society (not that i fully understand that now anyway).

i spent most of my life so far trying to understand my place in the world, and realizing that's kind of what everyone's trying to do. nowadays, i'm taking the approach i did when i was a teenager who yearned for romantic connection: trying to work on enjoying hanging out with myself before i bring other people into it. in other words, i'm trying to understand what my place is in my life before i try to understand what my place is in other people's lives.

i might write about some of that on here. this is kind of a passion project, and it was borne out of a curiosity more than anything. i've watched a couple of youtube videos about the indieweb and it really called to me, even as someone who hasn't really fucked with html or coding at all since editing what my blog looked like on tumblr. so hopefully my website isn't too crazy by the time you got here.

most of what i do (aside from work) has been focused on playing games, crafting, and reading. but i want to get back into writing, as it's been something i haven't done for pleasure in a really long time. as a teen i was really into writing fanfiction on deviantart and fanfiction.net, and while those were fun it wasn't necessarily groundbreaking stuff, y'know?

after i was kind of done with that, i maintained multiple RPs with my bestie (who i call my wifie) until pretty recently. and now it's probably been years since i wrote anything on a creative level. hopefully through writing on here i'll get back into writing other things. i do have an idea for a book that's been stewing in my brain for a long time, but i never feel prepared enough to actually write it down.

i don't even know if this is a good "about" section, but hopefully this rant gives you an insight on who i am and what this website is about. it's deeply personal and probably super niche so i understand if you don't want to stick around. someday i'll add a guestbook on the sidebar and maybe you can sign it?

for now, i'll just tell you what to expect: i'm planning on writing stream of thoughts things, reviews (more like thoughts i had about things i watched/played), and maybe post some pictures of crafts i made. i just moved into my first place, so there's a lot to do around here still.

also i don't know if it's necessary to have a warning for cursing and adult themes on here, but seeing as i'm nearly 30 expect some of that to pop up.
